XsunX CIGSolar™ Thermal Evaporation System:

Project Graphics and Build Updates 8/21/12

Above: CIGSolar™ On-Site Assembly & Testing

Re-assembly and testing of the major CIGSolar™ tool components have progressed very well. So much so that we have now begun to focus on the installation of the major vacuum components and the assembly of the thermal co-evaporation systems.

Operation of the system is managed through the use of a touch screen display (shown above) that allows the CIGSolar™ tool to be operated in full auto or manual mode. This design allows us to incrementally adjust the process parameters. To this we added the ability to adjust physical aspects of our evaporation system.

Together these features provide the ability to incrementally modify numerous aspects of the process and system without re-tooling or the need for major chamber modifications.

Our design also allows us to segmented process zones, and to further segment each zone to better control and create multiple ideal deposition environments.

We deliver selenium at several points throughout the system, and rely on our proprietary evaporation sources encased in titanium and graphite insulation to  deliver the correct proportions of copper, indium and gallium.

Below you can see our co-evaporation assembly area where we have been logging in and preparing the various parts that make up our evaporation system.
