The excitement is building here at XsunX as we see the progress of the major stages of the assembly of our CIGSolar evaporation system advancing. The project is no longer just a handful of patent pending designs and a pile of metal; it’s finally coming into clear view as an innovative new type of evaporation system.  We have worked long and hard on the design, have customers eager to witness its performance, and are excited about getting the system to a point where we can show its capabilities of producing world-class CIGS cells.  Join our enthusiasm and check out the latest progress by clicking over to our CIGSolar project update page.

What you will see on our project update page are portions of the CIGSolar™ material transport system undergoing bench testing procedures prior to installation onto the main evaporation chamber assembly.  In the background, the main evaporation chamber has been wrapped to protect surfaces after undergoing a final milling procedure. After welding was completed, the surfaces were re-finished to ensure flat and true surfaces so that a vacuum tight seal can be achieved.

We have downloaded a sample video to the website showing a portion of the material in-feed loader and transport system. The CIGSolar system’s elegant design utilizes simple and easy-to-maintain roller systems in a series of transport zones. Each zone is independently controlled to promote precise staging, pre-heat, process application, and exit functions.

Behind the scenes, we are working to complete the assembly of the control systems necessary to operate all of the evaporation chamber components as a single integrated system. We plan to begin attaching the various load locks and in-feed systems very soon. As this occurs, the CIGSolar™ system will begin to take on a new and more completed appearance so stay tuned and we will provide more updates as soon as possible.
